A village house was robbed early Friday morning, with the stolen items later recovered in a nearby worksite after being abandoned.

Shortly before 3 am today, a 45-year-old male houseowner surnamed Lai reported that there were traces of looting and suspected burglary in his village house at the Kwu Tung section of Sheung Shui Castle Peak Road.
After counting, about HK$20,000 worth of S.T. Dupont lighters and six brand-name handbags with a total value of about HK$390,000 were found to be missing.
Police officers arrived at the scene and found that the door of the balcony at the above address had been broken into. It was reported that the designer handbags included Hermès, DIOR, GUCCI, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton.
Subsequently, police officers conducted a search in the vicinity of the area and found the six designer handbags at a construction site nearby.
The case was classified as a burglary and was handed over to the Tai Po Police District for follow-up. No arrests have been made so far.
The police combed through the security camera and are looking for three local men, aged between 30 and 35, who were wearing black shirts and black trousers at the time of the crime.
