Man dies after falling from escalator in Sha Tin

A 36-year-old man tragically passed away after collapsing onto another woman while riding an escalator, which led to both of them falling in Sha Tin on Sunday.

The accident occurred around 2 pm when the 65-year-old woman, surnamed Tang, and a man surnamed Wong took the escalator between the wet market and the mall at Sha Kok Estate. 

It was reported that Wong suddenly fainted and collapsed backward onto Tang, resulting in both of them falling on the ride. While Wong remained unconscious after the fall, Tang sustained minor head injuries.

They were rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital, where Wong was later pronounced dead.

It was learned that Wong has a medical history, and the cause of his death is still under investigation.
