Travelers can now embark on a long-distance journey to Xi'an North (Xianbei) aboard high-speed trains, as the new route with 17 stations officially commenced operations on Sunday (January 5).

The route will pass through three cities covered in the Individual Visit Scheme—Meizhou West (Meizhouxi), Suzhou South (Suzhounan), and Xi'an North—along with Xintang Station in Guangzhou.
MTR said passengers could easily visit the Terracotta Army, experience the ancient Xian City Walls, and savor local delicacies like Roujiamo with the launch of the new route.
A celebratory ceremony was held at West Kowloon Station on Sunday as the first group of passengers departed for Xi'an on the train.
Trains to Xianbei Station depart from West Kowloon Station at 9:07 a.m. and arrive at 8:01 p.m. Southbound trains will depart Xianbei Station at 11:04 a.m. and arrive in Hong Kong at 9:09 p.m.
MTR said its high-speed rail network now covers over 90 direct stations with a maximum of 108 pairs of trains operated regularly daily.
