Locals and tourists buzz for the "Galloping Horses" drone show at Wan Chai waterfront last night to celebrate the upcoming 75th National Day.
Held by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the long-awaited show attracted tens of thousands of residents and visitors, with many arriving at the harbourfront an hour before the start time.
At 8 pm, some 1,500 drones displayed elements from four famous paintings created by Chinese art master Xu Beihong, as well as iconic landmarks, including the Kowloon Walled City, Lion Rock, Star Ferry, and Ding Ding (trams).
Mainland tourists expressed their excitement, saying the giant panda formations were the most memorable part, considering Beijing just gifted giant pandas An An and Ke Ke to the city.
Additionally, they said they were willing to splash out in Hong Kong during the holiday, with an estimated spending of around HK$1,500 to HK$2,000.
