BMW Concessionaires (HK) Ltd announced on Thursday that there has been a data leak of around 14,000 users and has already contacted the police and Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) for assistance.

The company announced today there was a cyber security incident involving customer information that was handled by a third party agency.
Titles, names, phone numbers, and SMS opt-out preferences were among the leaked data of the 14,000 users.
The company stated that they have already reported the incident to the police and the privacy watchdog, along with hiring a third-party network security specialist to conduct a full-scale investigation into the incident.
The spokesperson stressed that they took the privacy of their customers very seriously and have intensified their security measures to further safeguard their system.
They also urged their customers to remain vigilant in their personal data, and to contact them for further queries.
