The 10 top scorers in this year’s DSE exams are from eight schools including St. Joseph’s College, King’s College, St. Paul’s Co-educational College, Ying Wa Girls’ School, Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College, Diocesan Boys’ School, La Salle College, and Pui Ching Middle School.

It is also the first time St. Joseph’s College and Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College each saw a student attaining perfect scores.
Jenny Iu Chun-yi, 17, from Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College said she plans to stay in Hong Kong to study medicine but she hasn’t decided whether she will go to the University of Hong Kong or the Chinese University.
She added she has been binge-watching Korean medical dramas and became determined to study medicine after participating in a university experience program.
Iu said she understands that it won’t be easy working in the healthcare sector especially since the city is facing a manpower shortage. Yet, she hopes to apply her knowledge to help people in need, saying it is very meaningful.
Super top scorer Ander Liu Chun-cheung from St. Joseph’s College, who also reached level 5** in the mathematics extended part, also plans to stay in Hong Kong to become a doctor.
Liu said he was overjoyed by his outstanding results as he once thought his performance might fall below expectations.
Lau Hok-yau, a 17-year-old student from Ying Wa Girls’ School, is this year’s only female super scorer. She also plans to become a doctor.
From St Paul’s Co-educational College, super top scorers Wong Shue-hei, 17, plans to stay and become a doctor while Au Yeung Cheung-wai, also 17, will study economics in the UK or global business at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Yip Shiu-yuen, the top scorer at King’s College hopes to stay in Hong Kong and become a doctor.
Super top scorer Chung Pak-lun from La Salle College plans to study economics, finance and data science in the UK. The second top scorer at the school is Chan Chak-fung.
At Diosecan Boys’ School, 18-year-old super top scorer Jonathan Chan Yiu-sang hopes to study medicine at CUHK.
The last super top scorer is Kwong Wang-chit from Pui Ching Middle School.
