A police constable stationed at Government House in Central was hit by a private car making a U-turn and sent to hospital on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 11 am. The officer was hit by the private car outside the gate and sustained an injury to his right foot.
He was sent to hospital in a conscious state as the driver stayed at the scene to aid police investigation.
According to live sources, the blue Benz was traveling along Upper Albert Road towards Caine Road at the time.
The driver suspectedly traveled down the wrong path and attempted to make a U-turn outside Government House. Since the car was blocking the traffic towards Garden Road, the officer then approached to handle the matter.
The car then lost control and ran over the right foot of the officer.
