Man attacked in Tai Po park due to noise complaints

A man was injured after being attacked with a cane over a noise issue in Tai Po on Saturday night.

Police received a report yesterday (Mar 23) at 10.15 pm from a 65-year-old man surnamed Mok, saying that he was attacked by another 70-year-old man with a cane in a park in Tai Ming Lane.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and found that the victim had a head injury and was bleeding.

He was conscious and sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for medical attention, while the attacker had fled without a trace.

The victim stated that he recognized the attacker. It is understood that the two had argued over noise issues in the park earlier, and it was suspected that Mok was attacked because of this.

After preliminary investigation by the police, the incident was listed as an "assault occasioning actual bodily harm" case for follow-up.
