Hong Kong Boccia athletes nab two silvers at the Asian Para Games

Hong Kong Boccia athletes won two silver medals at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games on Friday morning.

At the Boccia Mixed Pairs BC4 Finals held at 15.15 pm today at the HZ Gymnasium, Hong Kong representatives Leung Yuk-wing and Chueng Yuen faced off against Chinese duo Lin Ximei and Zheng Yuansen.

The Hong Kong duo fell behind 0:2 after the first two rounds, then won the third round keeping their gold medal dream alive, before falling to the Chinese duo in the final round and losing 1:3.

Leung and Cheung finished with silver medals to their names, in addition to their own singles bronze medals they had won on Wednesday (Oct 25).

Separately at the Mixed Pairs BC3 Finals held at the same time in the HZ Gymnasium, Hong Kong representative Tse Tak-wah and Ho Yuen-kei faced off against Korean duo Jeong Howon and Kang Sunhee.

The Hong Kong reps started off well and led the first round with a score of 1:0.

However, their Korean counterparts put on a dominant performance in the second and third rounds by gaining seven points in a row, with the Hog Kong duo falling behind by 1:7.

They got one more point at the end, but were unable to make a comeback and lost the series 2:7, bagging a silver medal.

The Boccia representatives finished their events with one gold, two silvers, and three bronzes.
