The delegation that includes 98 athletes, with the remaining being officials and medical practitioners, sets off for the games at the Hong Kong International Airport on Wednesday morning.
The Hong Kong athletes will compete for the top spot on the podium in events including athletics, badminton, bocce, rowing, shooting, table tennis, and fencing.
Hong Kong badminton athlete Chu Man-kai and table tennis athlete Wong Ting-ting were picked as flag bearers because of their past achievements in their respective sports.
Chu, a silver medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and a recent gold medalist at the 2022 Para-Badminton World Championships in Tokyo, said it was an honor for him to be the flag-bearer, which will give him strength to vie for medals in the three events he will be competing in, including retaining his gold medal in the men's singles event.
Meanwhile, he expects the Hong Kong squad to achieve good results in the games, with the squad enjoying something like home ground advantage in Hangzhou.
