The HKSAR government is set to launch a new campaign next Thursday to boost Hong Kong's night economy, according to Sing Tao Headline, The Standard’s sister publication.
The launch ceremony of the new campaign will be held at the West Kowloon Cultural District at around 6.30 pm next Thursday (Sep 14) and will be officiated by the likes of Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po.
People with knowledge of the matter said the new campaign involves a series of new events and the introduction of new policies, while the campaign is different in nature from the “Happy Hong Kong” campaign.
The source said the campaign will not simply introduce “street markets” but will focus on revitalizing the city's night market and consolidating various economic sectors in the process of recovery.
