The owner of a detached house at St Andrew's Place on Kam Chui Road in Sheung Shui has reported his place being robbed on Thursday morning at around 5 am, with HK$5 million worth of jewelry being stolen.
A few hours later, another owner of a nearby detached house within the same estate also reported that a safe had been stolen from his home last week.
The burglary came to light this morning after the first caller discovered signs of ransacking in his home.
Police arrived on the scene, and an initial investigation revealed that a batch of jewelry worth around HK$5 million had been stolen. Officers canvassed the area, but no arrests were made, and police were checking security camera footage.
At 9 am, another owner of a nearby home also reported that a safe at his house was gone last week, and he suspected someone had burglarized his home.
Police were currently investigating whether the two cases were connected.
