Amina Mariam Bokhary, the niece of the Court of Final Appeal's non-permanent judge Kemal Bokhary, was charged with two additional counts of criminal damage and one count of theft, along with two charges she initially faced.
The 46-year-old was initially charged with two counts of criminal damage for an incident on December 13 of last year, where she threw her domestic helper's belongings into the street after finding her work unsatisfactory, damaging two sedans parked below.
The prosecution added two more counts of criminal damage and one count of theft against Amina this morning to the case. She denied all the charges, and the case will be rescheduled to May 17 for another hearing.
The defense requested an adjustment in the bail conditions, hoping that the judge would allow the defendant to travel overseas and decrease the number of times she has to report to the police station. However, the judge rejected both requests and stated that she must adhere to the original condition to be out on bail.
Hearing that her request for adjustment was denied, Amina was heard using foul language to curse in the courtroom and banging on the court door as she left.
