Senior counsel Laurence Li Lu-jen has been re-appointed as the chairman of the board of the Financial Services Development Council, the government said on Friday, with New World Development's chief Adrian Cheng Chi-kong being the latest name on the member list.
The three vice-chairmen are Andrew Walter Bougourd Ross Weir, senior counsel Daniel R Fung, and Ding Chen.
Two new members are introduced to the 12-strong board, including Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of New World (0017), and Damien Allen Green, CEO of Manulife Asia.
The other ten members are Diana Cesar, Lena Chan, Jimmy Lai Chi-ming, Jeremy Dinshaw Lam, Brian Li Man-bun, Lin Yong, Amy Lo Choi-wan, Henry Fan Hung-ling, Glenn Fok, and Hu Zhanghong.
Apart from Fan, Fok and Hu who are appointed a term of one year, the remaining are all appointed a term of two years.
Announcing the appointments, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui Ching-yu, said, “The appointees are all seasoned professionals with a balanced mix of expertise in various financial areas.
“I am confident that the Board, under the leadership of the Chairman and the three Vice-Chairmen, will direct the FSDC to further reinforce global stakeholders' confidence in Hong Kong as an international financial center.”
Hui also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing members Winnie Wong Chi-shun, Donald Perry Kanak and Stephen Wong Yuen-shan for their contributions to the FSDC over the past years.
