New tool allows self-test for Covid antibodies

A genetic testing company launched a new tool to enable citizens to self-test for Covid-19 antibodies.

Prenetics, the company announced to invent a testing tool that helps people to test themselves with coronavirus antibodies, without going to hospital or health centers.

During the test, people need only to place a blood drawer on their upper arm and press a button to get the blood drawn.

According to the company, the testing tool can detect the level of antibodies in body, so as to allow people to know the effect of the vaccine they received and whether they have been infected with Covid.

The testing tool set is sold for HK$700.

“We will also launch other blood testing tools targeting other health problems,” said the company, “including heart health tests and food sensitivity tests.”

“Over 50 types of self-test sets will be provided in the next 12 months,” the company claimed.
