The current vice-principal of the school, Cecilia Chow Tze-sze, will become principal of the Jesuit secondary school when incumbent Warren Chung Wai-leung retires.
The School Sponsoring Body of the school announced on Friday that the appointment would take effect from September 1 this year.
The announcement noted that Chow joined Wah Yan College, Kowloon, in 2008 as a teacher of Biology and Integrated Science and has contributed to the school by serving various positions, including the Head of the Biology Panel and the Head of the School Guidance Committee, in her 14 years of service.
Chow was promoted to the post of vice-principal in 2018, in charge of student affairs.
“Given Miss Chow’s genuine care for students, excellent teaching, solid educational management experience, and a firm grasp of Jesuit and Catholic education, we are confident that she will be able to lead her companions at WYK to further our mission of nurturing young men to be Men for and with Others,” the announcement wrote.
The school also expresses its most sincere gratitude to Mr. Chung for his contribution during his tenure. His strive for excellence and improvement has made an indelible mark on the school, it added.
