This comes as health officials evacuated residents due to vertical transmission at Glory Court of Tsuen Wan Garden, where two residents on different floors were infected.
Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection said the city saw 31 imported cases on Tuesday, including 21 people who arrived on a ship from India on January 23. The rest were local cases, and another 70 people tested preliminary positive.
Among the local cases, 53 were related to previously confirmed patients, including those at Kwai Chung Estate.
Thirty-three new cases were from Kwai Chung Estate – including 15 from Yat Kwai House, four from Ying Kwai House, 10 from Ha Kwai House. Yuk Kwai, Chui Kwai, and Nga Kwai House each saw one additional case.
A security guard at Yat Kwai House got infected.
There have been 276 cases in Kwai Tsing estate so far, including those infected at Kwai Chung Estate.
As for Tsuen Wan Garden, two residents who both live in unit 5 got infected.
Sixteen residents have to be evacuated, including those in unit 5 from 4th to 18th floor and unit 4 from 16th to 18th floor.
Albert Au Ka-wing from Department of Health said investigations indicate a patient who lives on 12th floor could have spread the virus via sewage.
At a salon in Fung Wong New Village, Wong Tai Sin, three people have tested positive so far. They include a staffer, a part-timer, and a customer, all of whom carry the L452R strain.
At Tropicana Gardens Block A, a 26-year-old man who bought a hamster at I Love Rabbit shop in Mong Kok last month got infected. He was suspected to have infected two residents in the same building, including a 75-year-old man in unit 7E and a 81-year-old woman in unit 8E.
Chuang said both the salon and Tropicana cases in Wong Tai Sin were Delta, meaning they could be linked to the hamsters.
Authorities also found sewage collected in Lam Tsuen in Tai Po to contain Covid-19. The affected areas cover Kau Liu Ha to Ping Long Villa on Lam Kam Road.
Residents are urged to get tested as soon as possible and wait for a negative result before going out.
There were six cases with untraceable sources of infection.
One lives in block 2 of Grand Yoho, Yuen Long, and works as an accountant at One Pacific, Kwun Tong. The person who arrived from Shanghai on January 16 tested negative at the airport and was more likely to have caught the virus in Hong Kong.
The second case was a 62-year-old man who works as a driver at Gold Coast Yacht & Country Club and lives in Fuk On House of Ka Fuk Estate, Fanling. He shared the same changing room and toilet as a chef at the club who got infected earlier.
The rest included a 75-year-old man who lives in Tat Sin House of Upper Wong Tai Sin Estate; a 40-year-old man who lives in St Martin, Pak Shek Kok and works in Hang Seng Bank's Ho Man Tin branch; and a 29-year-old housewife who lives in On Kwai House, Kwai Fuk Court which is near Kwai Chung Estate. A 41-year-old nurse at Prince of Wales Hospital also got infected.
