Five Chinese University student protesters found guilty of rioting during the “siege of CUHK” in November 2019 have been sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 4 years and 9 months to 4 years and 11 months.

On November 11, 2019, protesters threw petrol bombs from the No.2 Bridge towards Tolo Highway in “war-like” clashes with the police.
After firing tear gas into the campus, the police arrested five students: Lau Chun-yuk, 23, Foo Hoi-ching, 23, Ko Chi-pan, 23, Chan Lik-sik, 20, and Hui Yi-chuen, 22. They were charged with rioting and violating the mask ban.
The five were found guilty by Deputy District Judge Kathie Cheung Kit-yee on Tuesday at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts.
Foo and Hui were also convicted of possession of offensive weapons, namely a screwdriver, a metal hammerhead and a spanner, on the same day and at the same place with the intent to use them for unlawful purposes.
