The HKO said the area of low pressure is expected to intensify gradually and move slowly eastwards, tracking across the coastal waters of Guangdong in the next couple of days, and is expected to be closest to the Pearl River Estuary mid-week this week. However, there are uncertainties in its track and development.
Under its influence, there will be occasional showers and squally thunderstorms over the coastal areas on Wednesday to Friday, the Observatory predicted.
