The government locked down Fung Hing House of Hing Wah (II) Estate in Chai Wan at around 9pm tonight, after a case involving mutant strain was detected there.
The exercise is expected to be finished at about 7am tomorrow, according to government.
The government explained that a case involving mutant strain variant was confirmed at Fung Hing House, Hing Wah (II) Estate in Chai Wan today and the risk of infection there was assessed to be likely higher.
According to report, domestic helpers carrying the mutant strain variant held a party in Fung Hing House on April 13, causing the infection cluster.
All residents are required to undergo virus tests before 2am tomorrow. They must stay inside their residences until all test results are ascertained to avoid cross-infection risk, the government said.
Residents who have undergone virus tests between May 4 and 6, with negative test results shown on SMS notification or relevant certification would be exempted.
The government added that anyone who has been to Fung Hing House for more than two hours between April 23 and May 6 are required to undergo tests as well, on or before May 8.
The government added that there are any HKDSE candidates who need to sit the exam the following day, they should undergo the test as soon as possible and identify themselves with relevant proof. They would then be given priority testing.
