Mobile banking app freshened up

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation said active users of its mobile banking app grew by 55 percent year-on-year to 1.34 million in June.

HSBC is introducing a new interface for its HK Mobile Banking app (HSBC HK App). It will allow the display of all account information on one screen, including credit card transactions, insurance policies and MPF details.

The interface also makes it easier for app users to make payments to third parties by choosing the payees from their mobile contacts list, or settle credit card bills with other banks supported by the Faster Payment System.

In addtion, there is a message stack on the homescreen to remind users about important service information.

Customers can manage their wealth from their phones. A new dashboard allows users to view their investment portfolio.
