Ray Chan files complaint against Kwok Wai-keung

People Power lawmaker Ray Chan has filed a report to the police, accusing pro-Beijing rival Kwok Wai-keung of assaulting him during a Legco House Committee meeting on Friday, RTHK reports.
Kwok, from the Federation of Trade Unions, was filmed dragging Chan along the floor in a Legco conference room as lawmakers clashed over who should be presiding over the meeting.
Chan said doctors at Ruttonjee Hospital told him he suffered a slipped disk during the melee. He said he is now on pain medication.
Speaking to reporters outside Police Headquarters in the  afternoon today, the lawmaker also said he is planning to crowdfund HK$1 million to launch a private prosecution against Kwok, because he has little faith that the police and Department of Justice will take action.
Earlier in the day, Democratic Party legislator Andrew Wan said he would be giving the police a statement after he too was injured during Friday's meeting.
The proceedings had been adjourned for five minutes as Wan was wheeled out on a stretcher by paramedics.
Wearing a brace to protect his spine, Wan said pro-Beijing legislators Junius Ho and Wong Ting-kwong had elbowed him and somebody knocked him over. He said Ho and Wong had aggravated an earlier injury to his spine.-Photo: RTHK
