The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) partnered with Cathay Pacific to launch a new video series, "WestK in the Sky," which is available on the in-flight entertainment system across Cathay's passenger network.
WestK in the Sky is a video series spanning over six episodes that explores the unique programs and exhibitions by the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+, and the Performing Arts Division of WestK.
The six episodes were launched from April 1, starting with the first episode "A Unique Cultural Mission."
The episode showcased famous local host Do Do Cheng Yu-ling conversing with the Chief Executive Officer of the WKCDA, Betty Fung Ching Suk-yee, and the Cheif Executive Officer of the Cathay Group, Ronald Lam Siu-por, at the Hong Kong Palace Museum and shared their views on promoting local arts and culture to international audiences.
The five other episodes include “Inside Hong Kong Palace Museum,” “Inside M+,” “A Dazzling Fashion Journey,” “M+ Facade: A Canvas of Light,” and “When Jazz meets Cantopop.”
These episodes showcase all aspects of Hong Kong culture, including contemporary art at the M+ museum, an exploration of fashion at the Hong Kong Palace Museum with Karen Mok, and modernized music with the Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra and the Cantopop icon RubberBand.
Betty Fung said that WestK was grateful for Cathay’s support in promoting Hong Kong’s diverse art and culture, attracting more than 10 million visitors from around the world.
WestK and Cathay announced a three-year exclusive partnership in 2023. This collaboration has supported WestK by providing air transportation for the exhibits at the Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+ exhibitions. Additionally, it has facilitated the travel of local and international artists involved in WestK's art events.
