Delivery giant FedEx announced a collaboration with Hongkong Post to expand its self-collection network for inbound shipments to over 700 locations in the city.
Customers can now pick up their packages at designated Post Office counters, iPostal Stations, and 7-Eleven convenience stores without additional charge.
Flexible pickup options via WhatsApp or FedEx website
FedEx emphasized the increased flexibility offered by the expanded self-collection points, which include over 400 7-Eleven convenience stores, 165 iPostal Stations, and 119 Post Office counters.
To facilitate the self-pickup service, customers can select their preferred pickup location via WhatsApp or the FedEx official website.
After receiving a delivery notification via email or WhatsApp, users can follow instructions to choose their desired pickup location using the FedEx website or WhatsApp.
Integration with e-commerce development
Anothony Leung, Managing Director of FedEx Hong Kong and Macau, stressed the importance of adopting a customer-centric approach in the rapidly growing e-commerce and cross-border trade sectors.
Leung expressed gratitude for collaborating with the Hong Kong Post, noting that expanding the self-collection network will enhance last-mile delivery capabilities and improve the overall consumer experience.
Additionally, FedEx recently launched a Collaborative Shipping Tool to encourage seamless collaboration between importers and shippers during Airway Bill (AWB) creation, simplifying the import process for global shipments.
