Police are investigating a harrowing case of double murder and suicide following the deaths of a father, son, and grandson in Yuen Long on Tuesday.
Authorities received a call around 8pm regarding two men found unconscious in a ground-floor unit at Chun Hing New Village. The victims, aged 93 and 69, were confirmed dead at the scene, with sources indicating they were father and son.
Preliminary reports suggest they suffered fatal head injuries, prompting police to consider the possibility of homicide.
Officers also reported that a 19-year-old man died after falling from a height at Yuet Ping House in Long Ping Estate, located just 500 meters from the family home.
This young man is believed to be the grandson, raising suspicions of a connection between the two tragedies.
Investigators from the Yuen Long crime unit conducted searches at both locations, recovering a cutter about 200 meters from the village unit.
It remains unclear whether this cutter is the murder weapon, but it has been taken for forensic testing.
Neighbors described the 93-year-old victim as a talkative and healthy man who had lived in the village for over 20 years.
However, he became wheelchair-bound six months ago and had not been seen since the Lunar New Year holidays, leading to concerns about his well-being.
Surveillance footage revealed that the grandson visited the village house on Tuesday evening, shortly before the incidents.
Also, it emerged that the elderly man had previously refused to sell a plot of land he owned in Yuen Long and was involved in a legal dispute over land issues.
