The MTR Corporation announced that train services between Fo Tan and Tai Po Market have been temporarily suspended due to a person on the track at University Station on Monday.
Police reported that they received a report from MTR staff shortly before 5 pm today, indicating that a woman had fallen onto the tracks at University Station and trapped under a Lo Wu-bound train.
Firefighters rescued the woman beneath the train. She was found in an unconscious state and was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Due to the incident, train services between Admiralty and Fo Tan were operating at intervals of eight minutes. Meanwhile, trains running from Tai Po Market to Lo Wu and from Tai Po Market to Lok Ma Chau had their schedules adjusted to ten-minute intervals.
Free shuttle buses have been arranged between Sha Tin and Tai Po Market Station to accommodate passengers affected by the disruption.
MTR announced that the train service has gradually resumed after the incident.
