The well-known Vietnamese restaurant Perfume River, located in Causeway Bay, has officially closed its doors after over 45 years of operation.
The owner cited a combination of average business performance and health issues among the staff as the reasons for this decision.
The restaurant, located on Percival Street and established in the 1970s, has previously faced a potential closure in 2014 due to a rent increase but managed to continue operating after securing a new lease.
The owner explained that the closure wasn't related to rent problems this time, but rather the challenging operating conditions that led to the decision.
He has not ruled out the possibility of reopening under the same name if a suitable new location comes up.
