Ocean Park announced on Thursday the development details of the Ocean Park Adventure Zone, set to include a duo bungee jumping attraction among many other new features after its renovation in 2028.
This announcement comes as part of a collaboration with a consortium formed by Shun Tak Holdings Limited (HKSE 242) and AJ Hackett International Group.
The Adventure Zone, located in the seaside mountain area of The Summit, covers an area of approximately 120,000 square meters. The zone will repurpose the former site of the retired classic amusement ride "Raging River" to feature duo bungee jumping and duo swing attractions, along with featuring outdoor parks, rock climbing walls, etc.
Additionally, the former "Mine Train" site will be transformed into an activity center with ziplines, alpine coasters, and more.
A significant new addition will be two large, one-kilometer-long ziplines at the former location of the Boardwalk Café, offering tourists breathtaking views of Aberdeen Channel and the Southside. The area will also include three slides designed for thrill-seekers.
Work related to the project is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year and aims to be completed and open by mid-2028. Visitors will need to purchase additional tickets to enter these attractions.
Ocean Park emphasized that the three proposed areas have been meticulously designed to repurpose existing infrastructure and integrate seamlessly with the park’s natural topography.
The park aims to use environmentally friendly materials and incorporate educational and entertainment elements like information columns, puzzles, and tactile props to fulfill social responsibilities and encourage conservation efforts.
Paulo Pong Kin-yee, Chairman of Ocean Park Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm about this project, stating it is an exciting milestone for the park and Hong Kong's tourism industry.
He is confident that the Adventure Zone will attract adventure enthusiasts and family guests, consolidate the park's position as a world-class tourist resort, and enhance its market appeal and competitiveness. This initiative is also expected to help revitalize Hong Kong’s tourism industry and establish Hong Kong as a preferred destination for global tourists.
