Today, the Committee on Home-School Co-operation (CHSC) published the online version of the Primary School Profiles 2024 in both Chinese and English.
The printed version has been distributed to parents of children in K3 across all kindergartens and kindergarten-child care centers in the territory.
The Primary School Profiles 2024 reveals that among approximately 500 primary schools, 70 subsidized schools reduced their number of Primary One classes by 77 in total for the new school year. Sha Tin and Yuen Long districts each saw a reduction of 11 classes, the highest among all districts.
Conversely, 37 schools have added a total of 42 Primary One classes. Notably, the North and Wan Chai districts each have six schools that added seven classes, the highest increase observed in Hong Kong.
The public can access the online version of the profiles by visiting the Primary School Profiles webpage. Additionally, printed copies are available for public reference at district offices, public libraries, and regional education offices of the Education Bureau (EDB).
