The Housing Bureau and the Architectural Services Department announced on Thursday that two tenders for the design and construction of the second batch of Light Public Housing (LPH) projects have been awarded to the Able - Chun Wo Joint Venture for construction.
The tendered two contracts were for the second batch of "light public housing" projects, which include the design and construction of light public housing at Lok On Pai in Siu Lam, the design and construction of light public housing at Tuen Mun Area 54, along with Sheung On Street and Sheung Ping Street in Chai Wan.
The authorities stated that the first batch of "light public housing" with four projects will provide a total of about 17,000 units, all of which started construction in December last year.
While the second batch of "light public housing" projects announced today will provide a total of about 13,000 units, the two projects with the awarded contracts will account for about 11,500, with the related work to begin soon.
Meanwhile, the LPH projects at Hang Kwong Street, in Ma On Shan, as well as the conversion of five vacant or to-be-vacant school premises will be tendered out in mid-2024.
The authority stated that the Architectural Services Department will advance relevant work swiftly to achieve the goal of providing about 30,000 "light public housing" units by 2027-28.
