The Lunar New Year Fireworks Display, which has not been held for the last five years due to COVID-19 restrictions, will be held at Victoria Harbour on February 11, the second day of the Lunar New Year, at 8 pm.
The display this year is themed "China is Strong in the Year of the Dragon, when All Industries Are Prosperous" and will feature eight scenes of fireworks that last for 23 minutes in total.
Three barges will release 23,888 fireworks in Victoria Harbour, opposite the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The fireworks display will release red and gold figure 8s in the sky, as well as fireworks shaped like "smiling faces," "double red hearts," and "gold ingots".
The public can watch the fireworks celebrating the Lunar New Year in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mid-Levels, Central District, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, the Hung Hom Bypass, etc.
The display, coordinated by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and sponsored by the Hong Kong Celebrations Association, is estimated to cost HK$13 million.
