Japanese lifestyle department store Yata announced it would scale down its operations in Sha Tin and Tai Po starting next month.
According to the company's official social media page, the cosmetics, sports, and fashion counters in both locations will be phased out by mid-February.
Yata said the closure of the counters is part of the company's business development strategy, while the supermarkets will be operating as usual.
The Sha Tin store will be renovated after the Lunar New Year, with the cosmetics counter, leisure and sportswear section, and lingerie counters to cease operations starting from February 14.
The kitchenware, bathroom products, health products, and small household appliance counters will be relocated to the second floor.
As for the Tai Po store, the cosmetics, leisure and sportswear, kids' clothing, lingerie, luggage, household appliances, and toy counters will be closed starting February 19.
Baby products and health items will be relocated and available on the second floor.
