A 15-year-old female student was certified dead on Friday after she suspectedly suffered from a stroke during the school’s sports day the day before and was rushed to hospital.
The girl surnamed Pang, a secondary four student at Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon Tong, had been in critical condition since Thursday and was pronounced dead at 1.03 pm on Friday.
It is understood that the school was having a sports day at the Wan Chai Sports Ground yesterday. Pang arrived at around 8.30 am and her classmates found out she felt unwell around 10.35 am and contacted the Red Cross staffers on site.
Pang was then taken to the stands but her condition didn’t improve. She later collapsed and stopped breathing with no pulse detected.
After she was rushed to Eastern Hospital, the doctor suspected that she had a stroke and an angioma in her hindbrain had burst.
