Officer's gun goes off in airport police station

An airport police officer's gun accidentally went off in the Airport Police Station on Monday afternoon. No injuries have been reported.

The police inspector loaded his Glock 17 as usual in the loading area of the station, located at 8 Catering Road West in Chek Lap Kok, at around 3 pm yesterday (Nov 13). 

However, the gun went off after a shooting lesson as the trigger was accidentally pulled which fired a single bullet at the bulletproof wall.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The police spokesman stressed that they have strict regulations on the use of equipment, and the Airport Police District is currently investigating the case.
