A new night market will be set up on the Wan Chai Waterfront Promenade starting on September 27 under the city’s “Night Vibes Hong Kong” campaign, featuring food stalls, snack booths, music performances, and movie screenings, sources said.
It is understood that the 16-day night market will be one of the first few events to take place under the campaign. The night market will open from 3 pm until midnight, while the food section will open from 6 pm to 11 pm each day.
The market will host at least 30 stalls selling Hong Kong souvenirs and 25 stalls selling traditional Hong Kong style snacks. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s traditional outdoor eatery, or dai pai dong, will be set up next to the harborfront with at least 35 tables for diners.
As for the movie screening, Hong Kong classics such as “An Autumn's Tale” will be shown.
Drone light shows will also be on display over Victoria Harbour on the first three days of the night market and on other specific days.
