MTR to provide overnight service for Mid-Autumn Festival

The MTR Corporation announced on Tuesday that it will provide overnight service for the Mid-Autumn Festival, facilitating the public to go out to enjoy the festivities.

The railway operator also said it will enhance train service during the long weekend for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays this year by adding close to 900 extra train trips from September 29 to October 2.

The MTR said all MTR rail lines, except the Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line, will gradually enhance service with evening peak train frequencies starting from 3pm on the day of Mid-Autumn Festival (Sep 29). 

The Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line and Tseung Kwan O Line will run train trips at about 2-minute intervals after enhancement.

Meanwhile, for the night of Mid-Autumn Festival, all MTR rail lines and seven Light Rail routes will operate overnight. No overnight services will be provided for the Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line and journeys to or from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations on the East Rail Line.

MTR Bus routes 506, K51 and K54 will also extend their service time for the convenience of those out celebrating the full moon.
