As the Hangzhou Asian Games kicks off on 23 September, come and share the thrill of the Games and support Hong Kong’s athletes in a series of action-packed events at Sino Group’s shopping malls with the full support of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong.
As Hong Kong sends its largest team ever to participate in the Asian Games, keep an eye out for Hong Kong’s potential medal-winning sports including swimming, fencing and table tennis, as well as new sports such as break dancing and skateboarding.
Immerse in the action and follow the Games closely on the huge 430-inch or 540-inch TV screens that are tuned to HOY TV that broadcasts the Games live in high-definition at the four shopping malls of Sino Group, including Olympian City and Tuen Mun Town Plaza from 23 September.
Meanwhile, discover your sports potential at the six fitness stations in the "Finding New Sports Stars" program at the Event Hall of Olympian City 2 from 26 July to 27 August. The Program will match you with over 30 popular sports and generate your personal sports potential analysis report to see which ones are suitable and sustainable for you. Those with perfectly matched sports can enroll in free training courses offered by Sino Group, while others can enroll at discounted prices.
"Finding New Sports Stars" program offers free courses to nurture future sports talents
At the kick-off ceremony, Andrea Leung, Group General Manager of Marketing, says, “Sino Group has always attached great importance to the development of sports in different stages and areas, and hopes to nurture future sports stars.”
Long-distance runners Chan Ka-ho and Christy Yiu brought their 5-year-old daughter to the six fitness challenges and found that she has potential in skateboarding, badminton, and lawn bowling. “As a parent, I fully support my daughter to do what she likes,” says Chan. “An outstanding athlete needs not only talent, but more importantly, dedication, which is why parents should focus more on their children’s interests instead of their talents, and explore a path that is suitable for their development.”
Set to make their debut in the Asian Games, Hong Kong break dancing team representatives Bboy Think, Bboy C Plus and skateboarding representative Cheung Hang-tat also took the challenge. "Finding New Sports Stars" program will be looking for future stars in new sports such as break dancing, skateboarding and sports climbing.
S+ REWARDS members can participate in the six physical challenges with 2 points, while Olympian Kids members can join with 200 points. On 6 August, which is Sports For All Day 2023, participants can join for free on a first-come-first-served basis.
After completing the challenges, participants who find a perfect match with a sport will be awarded the "Sports Rising Star" S+ REWARDS e-medal to join one of the 12 sports courses for free, including 3x3 basketball, skateboarding, boxing, running, rugby, table tennis, fencing, sports climbing, break dancing, football, rhythmic gymnastics and cycling.
Other participants can also obtain the "Sports Athlete" S+ REWARDS electronic badge and join one of the above courses at a discounted price. Each course lasts for 4 to 8 weeks and will be guided by professional coaches.
