Chinese flag mistakenly hung upside down at Legislative Council Complex

The National Flag of the People’s Republic of China was mistakenly hung upside down at the Legislative Council Complex in Admiralty this morning.

At around 9am this morning, photos of the upside-down flag being hung at the Legislature have been uploaded to social media. After half an hour later, staff members were seen hoisting the flag again correcting the mistake.

The Legislative Council Secretariat responds to media inquiries that the flag-raising ceremony is carried out every morning at 8am, the Secretariat has made rectifications at 9.54am after acknowledging the incident and apologize for it.

It is understood that the flag-raising ceremony is handled by staff members of the Legislative Council.-Photo: HKPLEx Facebook
