HK post unveils special stamps issued next year

Stamp collectors can soon bring home a set of “local snacks” including fishballs, buttered pineapple buns back home. Yes, you heard it right.

Hongkong Post unveiled six sets of special stamps which will be issued from January to June next year, offering an extraordinary collection of stamps encompassing themes on the arts from classical times to modern culture.

A special set of stamps under the theme of “Local Snacks in Hong Kong”, featuring fishballs, candy and coconut wrap, stuffed three treasures, stewed skewers and all sorts of local favorites, will be issued on April 22 next year.

Another anticipated issue is the "Classical Novels of Chinese Literature - Romance of the Three Kingdoms" scheduled for March 16, 2021.

Eight popular scenes, including The Oath of the Peach Garden, A Notion of Heroes over Warm Wine, Escorting Sisters-in-law for a Thousand Mile, Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage, Zhao Yun Saving the Young Lord, Empty Fort Stratagem, The Arrow through the Halberd and Borrowing Arrows with Straw Boats have been specially selected to appear on a set of six stamps and two stamp sheetlets for the public's enjoyment.

The stamps are designed based on paintings of the renowned artist, Tung Pui-sun, with each stamp created with superb artistic value.

Collectors may place their orders for the special stamps online in advance on the Hongkong Post Stamps website, customers who place orders by December 6 will receive attractive gifts and bonus points.
