Ex-officials support HK national security law

Former Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Gregory So Kam-leung, and former Secretary for Food and Health, Ko Wing-man, have offered their support for the Hong Kong national security law.

In their joint statement, the former officials said the National People's Congress Standing Committee will improve the law and system to maintain national security, and establish an "immune system against viruses" for Hong Kong.

They said it is a consensus that chaos in Hong Kong cannot continue, and legislation will allow the city to regain its health and return to calm. And society can continue to build, enterprises can seek further developments and Hong Kong people can return to a stable life.
