More principal officials will be replaced in the reshuffle of Carrie Lam's administration, Eastweek News reports, citing sources.
The Undersecretary of Labour and Welfare, Caspar Tsui Ying-wai, will take over from Lau Kong-wah as the Secretary for Home Affairs.
Tsui was Political Assistant to the Secretary for Home Affairs from June 2008 to June 2012 and from September 2012 to June 2017. Before joining the government, Tsui worked in the banking sector and joined the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong in 2006.
Alfred Sit Wing-hang, Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, will take over from Nicholas Yang Wei-hsiung as Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
Sit joined the government as Assistant Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in September 1984 and was promoted to Chief Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in August 2001, to Government Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in December 2007, and to Deputy Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services in September 2011.
Financial Services Development Council Executive Director, Christopher Hui Ching-yu, will replace James Henry Lau Jr as Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury.
Eastweek News reported earlier that Patrick Nip Tak-kuen will be replaced by Immigration director Erick Tsang Kwok-wai as the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, while Nip will take over from Joshua Law Chi-kong as Secretary for the Civil Service.
