Travel agency cancels all group tours until June 19

Travel agency WWPKG said this afternoon it has canceled all group tours until June 19.

It previously said enough people had booked for it to run a tour to eastern provinces departing on May 9 – two days after rules stipulating that people coming from the mainland must spend two weeks in home quarantine are due to lapse.

Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said in the regular press briefing today that there are still outbreaks in many parts of the world and it is not suitable for outbound traveling in May as there are still risks.

WWPKG said it has heard the voice of the community and Chuang's appeal, and will put the health of the general public first.-The Standard/RTHK
