Hong Kong’s maritime heritage takes center stage in ARTS · TECH Exhibition 3.0 – The Lighthouse, a free multimedia installation running from June 14 to July 13 at Ocean Terminal Deck, Harbour City.
Organized by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, the exhibition blends neon art, sound, and technology to explore the city’s cultural identity.
A beacon of art and memory
Curated by Joel Kwong and media artist Keith Lam, the showcase features a towering neon lighthouse sculpture overlooking Victoria Harbour.
Interactive elements—like a wave-activated sound booth—invite visitors to reflect on Hong Kong’s past as a fishing village and its modern skyline of "urban beacons."
"The harbour’s neon lights guide us home. This work connects the pulse of the sea and city, rekindling emotional ties,” said Keith Lam.
While Joel Kwong noted that a lighthouse is both guardian and guide: “We hope visitors rediscover what ‘home’ means."
