In the bustling heart of Hong Kong, from Admiralty to Wan Chai along the Victoria Harbour waterfront, locals and tourists alike can now enjoy more than just a breezy seaside stroll.
The railings along the promenade are adorned with a series of nostalgic miniature exhibits, capturing the essence of old Hong Kong housing estates through intricately designed 1:12 scale "time capsule" dioramas.
These miniature houses, securely fixed to the railings with custom-made concrete, meticulously recreate various scenes from vintage Hong Kong living environments.
Each model is crafted with remarkable attention to detail, evoking memories and offering a slice of history to those who remember and those curious about the past.
One standout feature of the exhibit is the retro television sets, which have become a popular spot for photographs.
According to the designer Tai Yau-on, these vintage TVs are emblematic of an era when television was a primary source of education and social communication in Hong Kong.
They represent nostalgic scenes where families gathered around the TV during meal times, a common sight in many households that shaped the social fabric of the time.
