Japanese man, wife and adopted daughter arrested over filming sex with 100 women for profit

A Japanese man who claimed to practice polygamy, along with his wife and adopted daughter, have been arrested for allegedly luring around 100 women into sexual encounters, filming them secretly and selling the videos online for profit.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested 39-year-old Yohei Ono, his 28-year-old wife Haruka Ono, and their 23-year-old adopted daughter Rin Ono, none of whom had fixed addresses or occupations.

According to the Asahi Shimbun, the trio is accused of contacting a woman in her 20s via social media in July last year. Yohei Ono had sex with the victim at a hotel in Shinjuku while the two women secretly filmed the encounter between 11.40am and 5.05pm. The footage was later uploaded to a paid adult website.

Police seized 37 smartphones and computers from the suspects, discovering about 860 obscene videos involving approximately 100 different women.

Yohei Ono admitted to the charges, stating he had been uploading such videos for about two years and three months, earning an estimated 50 million yen (HK$2.5 million). His wife and adopted daughter remained silent during questioning.

This is not Yohei Ono's first arrest. In November last year, he was detained by Tokyo police for illegal confinement after allegedly meeting a teenage girl online, confining her in a Shinjuku apartment for a month, and threatening to kill her if she tried to escape. She eventually sought help from Osaka police.

Authorities believe the suspects used social media systematically to find victims and are investigating whether more women were targeted.
