The 25-year-old is accused of indecently assaulting a local female interpreter during a celebration dinner following a fan meeting event in March.
The trial resumed at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts on Thursday morning. Kamimura opted not to testify in his defense after the magistrate ruled a prima facie case against him on July 30.
During closing arguments, the prosecution emphasized that the testimony of X, the female interpreter, was clear and direct, arguing that Kamimura’s apology indicated acknowledgment of inappropriate behavior.
They pointed out that the defense witness confirmed Kamimura went to the restroom alone, making it implausible for him to ask X to accompany him.
Conversely, the defense questioned the credibility of X's testimony, suggesting it might be exaggerated and noting that the alleged contact could have been accidental.
The defense asserted that Kamimura’s apology did not equate to an admission of guilt.
The case was adjourned to August 13 for a verdict.
The case has attracted significant public attention, with approximately 200 admission passes distributed for the hearing, with the majority being young women.
After the conclusion of the hearing, Kamimura was seen with red eyes, appearing emotional, and was wiping away tears as he left the courtroom, prompting fans to express their sympathy.
