Two clips from Trump’s recent visit to his Turnberry resort in Scotland have drawn scrutiny. One, verified by Reuters, appears to show him nudging his ball into a better position with his club.
An onlooker is heard remarking that they can't believe they just watched him cheating at golf. Another clip, circulating on social media, allegedly shows a caddie dropping Trump’s ball in an ideal spot after an errant shot.
The White House has not commented on the videos, but viewers were quick to label them as proof of cheating.
Trump has long claimed golfing prowess, once stating to The Washington Post that he wins at golf and doesn’t lose often. He boasts over 20 club championships and an official 2.8 handicap—a claim that many insiders dispute.
The allegations are nothing new. Hollywood actors Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Anderson have publicly accused him of cheating. Anderson, recalling rounds with Trump, mentioned on Late Night With Seth Meyers that the president's caddie cheats for him.
Rick Reilly’s book "Commander in Cheat" details further claims, including that caddies at Trump’s Winged Foot club nicknamed him “Pelé” for allegedly kicking balls back into play.
A golf agent was reported by The Telegraph as saying that Trump jokingly quotes wrestler Eddie Guerrero, expressing that he cheats in business, love, and golf.
Even former Solheim Cup captain Suzann Pettersen, who has played with Trump, commented that he cheats a lot and no matter how far into the woods he hits, it’s in the fairway when they get there.
