The World Grand Prix will return to Hong Kong for the second time in 2026, bringing together the world’s top 32 snooker players for a six-day tournament at Kai Tak Arena in Kai Tak Sports Park.
Organized by the World Snooker Tour and F-Sports Promotions Limited, with support from the Billiard Sports Council of Hong Kong China Limited, the World Grand Prix 2026 will take place from February 3 to 8.
The event will feature the season’s top-ranked players competing for world ranking points and a total prize purse of £700,000, with £180,000 awarded to the champion.
The World Grand Prix has been staged in the United Kingdom since 2015 before relocating to Hong Kong earlier this year. As one of the flagship events on the World Snooker Tour calendar, it showcases the top 32 players of the season and is regarded as one of the sport’s premier tournaments.
Several of snooker’s biggest names are on track to qualify, including reigning world champion Neil Robertson, Judd Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Ding Junhui, Zhao Xintong, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy, Mark Allen, John Higgins, Mark Williams, and Kyren Wilson.
In addition to the main tournament, exhibition matches will be held on February 7 and 8, featuring four world-class players.
A team exhibition match will be introduced for the first time, pairing elite players with emerging local talents selected through a competition organized by the Hong Kong Billiard Sports Academy. The initiative aims to promote youth development and strengthen the sport’s long-term legacy in the city.
Tickets for the exhibition matches will not be sold publicly. Fans holding tickets for afternoon sessions during the first four days of the main event will be able to redeem exhibition tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional tickets will also be distributed free to community groups, including schools, youth organizations, and charities.
A fan interaction zone and sports carnival will run alongside the tournament, offering ticket holders complimentary access to sports experiences, player autograph sessions, and event merchandise.
Feng Huanhuan, chief executive of F-Sports Promotions Limited, said the return of the World Grand Prix reflects the organizer’s commitment to bringing major international sporting events to Hong Kong.
She said the event aims to attract overseas visitors, respond to strong local interest in snooker, and contribute to the sport’s professional and community development, while reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a global sports events hub.
Public ticket sales will begin at 9am on December 19 via HK Ticketing and Damai, with prices ranging from HK$80 to HK$2,580. A six-day pass and a final-day all-day pass will also be available, with six-day pass holders receiving a cue as a complimentary gift.
