Vendors are rolling out flash sales and slashing prices by half to boost sales by at least 30 percent at the four-day Hong Kong Computer and Communications Festival operating at its largest scale in history starting next Friday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
With just a HK$35 admission fee, visitors can glimpse into the future trends of technology and gain a deeper understanding of the close integration of technology and life from more than 200 vendors.
The organizer, Chamber of Hong Kong Computer Industry, is also preparing a total of HK$3 million in cash vouchers, and will distribute vouchers worth between HK$10 and HK$500 to spend at the venue.
Citizens can also fight for some 20 items on flash sale, including routers, laptop computers, keyboards and smartphones that will be sold at HK$20.
Chamber chairman Sam Hui Kin-sang said this year's exhibition features technological products such as caring robots and Web3 tools, in the hope of promoting innovation and technology to the public.
Visitors can experience shooting, boxing, golf, skiing and horse-riding through Virtual Reality in an e-sports experience zone.
Three e-sports competitions will be held with prizes ranging from HK$11,000 to HK$50,000.
Hui said the process of attracting vendors was quite satisfactory, and expected 50,000 to 60,000 visitors, which is similar to previous years, but anticipated the sales volume would increase by at least 10 percent compared to HK$330 million last year.
Chamber director Jacky Cheung Yiu-shing hoped to attract some residents from the Greater Bay Area with the good quality and affordable prices of local products.
Several e-sports product brands will sell keyboards at nearly half-price.
A memory card seller said he will only sell a limited number of 20 memory cards at a cheaper price, hoping to promote his brand and increase business turnover by at least 30 percent over last year.
Meanwhile, the five-day Food Expo, Beauty & Wellness Expo and Home Delights Expo will start today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, along with two three-day fairs - the Hong Kong International Tea Fair and the Food Expo PRO.
The five trade fairs will bring together more than 1,800 exhibitors and feature a wide range of global food and trendy products to industry buyers and the public.
Admission to the food expo, beauty and home appliance fair costs HK$30, while early bird and night-owl tickets at HK$10 are available for those entering before noon and after 6pm, respectively.
Lucky draws will be held daily for attendees with a purchase of HK$200 or more on a single receipt. Prizes including hotel and buffet coupons, household products, skin care products, gourmet food, health products and fitness classes.
Some exhibitors said this will be the first large-scale food festival since the pandemic and they are confident about the business turnover and have increased the quantity of goods to welcome the event.
