AS Watson opens store number 16,800

AS Watson Group announced the opening of a new store in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, becoming its 16,800th location worldwide.

The new 770-square-meter establishment further consolidates ASW's position as one of the world's largest international health and beauty retailers, according to the group, which has a portfolio of 12 brands operating across 29 markets.

Group chief executive officer Malina Ngai Man-lin said the opening of the new store not only represents the company's growth but also symbolizes its commitment to serving communities worldwide, which includes creating jobs, fostering customer relationships and building lasting trust.

16,800 is a number with special meaning in Chinese culture - with the numbers six and eight symbolizing "everything going smoothly" and good fortune, respectively - Ngai said, expressing well-wishes for global customers this Christmas season.

The new store, one of the largest shops under AS Watson's brand Kruidvat, will serve more than 11,000 customers per week and offer over 36,000 products, representing the group's dedication to delivering excellent customer experience both offline and online.
